The 1937-38 7W Ten was the first of this UK designed car. From 1939, the next model, not only were the 2 and 4 door saloons built in the UK, but in Australia as well.
1938-49 UK built E93A Prefect, E04A Anglia.
1939-45 Oz built E03A Prefect,
1946-48 Oz built A53A Prefect, A54A Anglia.
1949-53 UK built E493A Prefect, E494A Anglia
1949-53 Oz built A493A Prefect, A494A Anglia.
1953-59 UK and Oz built 103E Popular
In 1953 replaced by the new 100E, the old shape, as the 103E Popular, continued on as a budget model until 1959.
The EO4A Anglia got a facelift in 1949, the E494A, sold along side the 4 door E493A Prefect. The Prefect got a more modern updated look, the headlights now within the guards. But with the Anglia, it continued with the old look, headlights on top of the guards and a similar grille as the old 7W Ten. The E494A was only available as a 2 door saloon and panel van in the UK, but in Australia, the similar A494A was available as 2 door Tourer, Roadster Utility and Coupe Utility as well.
