Summary

Description	English: NASA/NOAA satellite imagery from August 4, 2018 showing smoke from California fires blowing eastward. Smoke plumes drifted across Nevada into Idaho and Utah and beyond. Fire locations are shown as red dots and were detected using data from the Suomi NPP satellite. The imagery is from the VIIRS sensor also on the Suomi NPP satellite.
