Русский: Его 1-я жена, ур. Аничкова, умерла в 1699 г. Традиционная идентификация гласит, что это - его 2-я жена Анастасия Ермиловна Матвеева, ур. Барятинская, в первом браке Аргамакова, . Однако портрет написан во Франции в 1706 году, а она вышла замуж за него лишь в 1720 году. Аргамакова (чья девичья фамилия неизвестна) была его 3-й женой; а в Париж его сопровождала 2-я, неизвестная по личному имени княжна Барятинская, обычно не упоминаемая в биографии Матвеева.   • 1919: Ж. Роман опубл док-цию Риго, сообщал в прим к записи о 'Г-н посланник Московии и Г-жа,' следующее: ААМ, посланник Московии во Фр с 1706 по 1711, и его жена, ур. княжна Барятинская. Оригинальный портрет мужа принадлежит г-ну П. Дурново на Охте, а портрет жены г-ну Сергею Шереметьеву в Санкт-Петербурге.
  • 1925: портрет ААМ передан Эрм из собр. П. П. Дурново в Ленинграде.
  • 1931: собр Шереметьевых передано Эрм; портрет гр М как раб неизв фр худ (старый инв); в дальнейшем: как раб неизв нем худ (передан в раздел нем живописи), как портрет гр М.
  • 1975-6: Е. Ф. Кожинa, «Два русских портрета из мастерской Иасента Риго»: как она атриб ГЭ-6627 и тд; “как совершенно нехарактерное для этой национальной [нем] школы, не привлекало ничьего внимания, и почти исчезла надежда на восстановление истинной атрибуции”; как портрет гр Анастасии Ермиловны М.
  • 1976: кат ГЭ, как раб мастерской Риго, портрет гр АЕМ.
  • 1986-7: кат выст La France et la Russie. Siècle des Lumières, №256=ГЭ-7498, ГЭ-6627 упом как портрет гр АЕМ.
  • 1999: кат выст От войны к миру. Россия - Швеция. XVIII век, №43, как оригинал, портрет гр АЕМ; на обороте авторского холста: Peint par Hyacinthe Rigaud 1706.
