Deutsch: Wappen der Stadt Langenselbold

Blazon

Deutsch: In Blau ein schwebendes, kugelendiges Kreuz, belegt mit einem silbernen Schild, darin zwei schwarze Balken, umgeben von einem schwebenden, viereckigen, silbernen Rahmen. Die Vorlage zu dem in dieser Tingierung 1961 ministeriell genehmigten Wappen ist das Bild im Gerichtssiegel, dessen Entstehungszeit die Jahreszahl 1713 in der Umschrift angibt. Der Schild enthält das Stammwappen des Hauses Isenburg. Das Kreuz dürfte eine Erinnerung an das 1543 säkularisierte Prämonstratenserstift sein. Der Rahmen ist als das alte Ortszeichen anzusehen.
