"In contrast to what we know of Akkadian sculpture, this statue of Urbaba seems almost clumsy in the heaviness of the proportions in the upper part of the sculpture, most noticeably in the hands. This treatment is perhaps due to a continuation of Sumerian traditions in the south of Mesopotamia during the Akkadian period, yet the sinuousness of the outline of the bared right arm speaks for the lasting influence of aspects of the Akkadian style" p.10
