| Description |
Le Konzerthaus (salle de concert) est le bâtiment principal de la Gendarmenmarkt à Berlin. Le bâtiment initial a été conçu par le grand architecte prussien Karl Friedrich Schinkel et construit entre 1818 et 1821. Détruit lors des bombardements de la dernière guerre mondiale, il a été reconstruit entre 1979 et 1984 en respectant le style de l'époque. L'extérieur est conforme aux plans de Schinkel, par contre, l'intérieur a été fortement remodelé. La salle de théâtre d'origine a été supprimée au profit de la salle de concert. Cette dernière est nettement plus grande que la précédente mais respecte le modèle d'origine. Le plafond à caissons, les sculptures sur les murs contribuent à la qualité acoustique. La décoration de la salle de concert est d'une grande qualité esthétique, l'acoustique est bonne mais la visibilité de la plupart des places est malheureusement très mauvaise.
