Fair use for Herbert Schofield[edit]

Though this image is subject to copyright, its use is covered by the U.S. fair use laws, and the stricter requirements of Wikipedia's non-free content policies, because:

  1. It is an historically significant photo of Dr Schofield. It was painted in 1950 by Sir Oswald Birley, and is now the property of Loughborough University.
  2. The image was obtained from https://artuk.org/discover/artworks/herbert-schofield-18821963-principal-of-loughborough-college-19151950-80122
  3. It is of lower resolution than the original. Copies made from it will be of very inferior quality.
  4. The photo is only being used for informational purposes.
  5. Its inclusion in the article adds significantly to the content because it brings to life the subject of the article.
