Vergnetand Gailhard, as Faust and Mephistopheles, andMme. Miolan-Carvalho as Marguerite. Then to theFran9ais again to see LEpreuve Nouvelle(Marivaux), Prudhon, Roger, Truffier, MesdamesJouassain, D. Felix, and Reichemberg. After whichcame the Phedre of Racine, with Mounet Sullyand Mme. Sarah Bernhardt, the entertainment con-cluding with Les Deux Menages—Prudhon,Joumard, Mesdames Broisat, P. Granger, Lloyd, andBianca. I next went to the Gymnase : the programmeconsisted of Quete a Domicile, a comedy in oneact, and Frou-Frou, which displayed some veryclever acting. Ravel was the Brigard ; Pujol, Henri ;and Landrol, Paul de Valreas ; Prou-Frou, Louise,and the Baroness being represented by Mesdames

Theprogramme consisted of LEpreuve Nouvelle (thecast as before), and Adrienne Lecouvreur, played byGot, Laroche, Kime, Joumard, etc., Mesdames Favart—a fine actress—Arnould-Plessy, another, E. Riquer,E. Fleury, Martin, A. Dupont, and Bianca. On September 18 I was back again in TottenhamStreet, and Money was played until November 6,when * Masks and Faces, by C. Reade and TomTaylor, was revived and acted until April 8, 1876.I next appeared in a play of H. J. Byrons called Wrinkles, which had but a very short career. Thiswas succeeded by a revival of Robertsons Ours, inwhich I acted Prince Perovsky until August 4, mylast appearance at the Prince of Waless Theatre, butnot my last engagement with the Bancrofts, whichtook place three or four years later.
