Summary

Description

Shafiabad Caravanserai

The large caravanserai in the heart of Safiabad is bigger in scale than others in the large surrounding oasis, and has four attractively faceted round towers in uncoloured mud-brick – commonly used visual icons of the Lut Desert area. The internal structure of the caravanserai has been slowly under reconstruction for many years and should eventually be transformed into a rather special hotel. (Lonely Planet)
