Use of "atom"[edit]

The description of the illustration includes "Each separate locus (amorphous blob) is an atom of:...membrana...E protein...glucose..." This includes a link to atom which covers only the physics use of atom, meaning nuclear particles and electrons. This doesn't really apply to proteins and glucose which are assemblages of atoms. Would it be more appropriate to use molecule or something else, or if this is a valid use of 'atom', perhaps it should link to another article that covers this other use. D. F.
