Badri Narayan Singh

Badri Narayan Singh, also known as BN Singh, was a former principal of Harish Chandra Postgraduate College in Varanasi, India.[1][2]

Professional career[edit]

Singh joined the chemistry department at Harish Chandra Postgraduate College as the department head. He remained in this position until 1992, when he then became the principal of Harish Chandra Post-Graduate College. Singh remained the college principal until his retirement in 2001.[2]

Education[edit]

Singh completed his BSc, MSc, and PhD degrees in Chemistry from Banaras Hindu University.

Personal life[edit]

Singh was born in Varanasi, India, where he remained for his whole life.[2] He was married to his wife of almost 50 years, Indrasani Devi, until her death in 2010. They had four children and seven grandchildren.[citation needed] He died in February 2023.[2]

Legacy[edit]

In 2024, Harish Chandra Postgraduate College honored Singh's memory and contributions to the college through several awards started by his youngest daughter, Alka Kumar (Kashyap).[1][2]
