I did not find anywhere that Jehovah's Witnesses are Christians.--RIH-V 20:26, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Their beliefs are intrinsically Christian by dictionary definition of the word. Dispute on specific theological definitions held by other religions is POV. See talk at JW article.--Jeffro77 11:57, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Adventist?[edit]

Are Jehovah's Witnesses "Adventist"? If so, I suggest this category be additionally placed in Category:Adventist. Colin MacLaurin 20:52, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes & No.
They meet the technical meaning of the term-- expecting Jesus' advent soon-- but normally when people speak of Adventists they are refering to groups derived from the Millerites-- and JW have not, or "mostly" not. --Carlaude (talk) 19:09, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

POV edit reverted[edit]

My edit summary got lost from my previous edit. I reverted the previous edit because despite the editor's claim, the description does not say they are distinct from Christianity. Rather, it states they are distinct from *mainstream* Christianity. Not all Christian denominations are mainstream.--Jeffro77 Talk 08:51, 1 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
