Untitled[edit]

Hi - just passing through.

The articles in this category bear the text, "This Laotian location article is a stub." The word "Laotian" is no longer commonly in used for this sort of description. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laos#Terminology . In Laos itself you will hardly ever encounter the word "Laotian". While I agree with the author of the above-mentioned terminology section that confusion (and offence/embarrassment) can be avoided when referring to persons not of Lao ethnicity, possibly by the use of the word "Laotian", in practice the word "Lao" is regularly used in Laos to refer to all citizens of the Lao PDR. The word "Laotian" is thought by some to carry colonial connotations.

By way of conclusion, I am not a regular contributor to Wikipedia and I was not able to find how this boiler-plate can be changed. Please consider changing "This Laotian location article is a stub." to "This Lao location article is a stub." I know it sounds a bit weird, but ask aroundand you will probably get a consensus...
