Charlie Staniland (born 12 November 2004) is an English footballer who plays for Toronto FC II in MLS Next Pro.
Early life[edit]
In 2012, Staniland joined Sheffield United's academy.[1] In July 2021, he signed a scholarship contract with Sheffield United.[2] After completing his scholarship, he signed a pro deal with the club in July 2023.[3]
Club career[edit]
In April 2024, Staniland signed a professional contract with Toronto FC II in MLS Next Pro.[1][4] He made his debut on 19 April against New England Revolution II.[5] In May 2024, he joined the Toronto FC first team on a short-term loan on two occasions, ahead of league matches.[6][7] On 23 May 2024, he scored his first goal for Toronto FC II in a match against Carolina Core FC.[8]
