Draft:2022 Pacific Rowing Club Head of the Charles Crash

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

At the Head of the Charles in Boston-Cambridge, Massachusetts, in 2022, Pacific Rowing Club's Men's Youth 8+ took a heavy blow to the side of Boston College High School's Crew who collided into the Elliot Bridge.

The Pacific lineup was R. Powell (coxswain), J. Rosenblum (stroke), N. Leach (7), K. Lamb (6), J. Machle (5), M. Machle (4), J. Miller (3), P. Kanaley (2), T. Delephine (bow). Many of these rowers went on to row successful college careers.

There were many casualties from this event, such as bow seat in Boston College High School's Crew suffered a concussion.

The coxswain failed to take buoy line and thought he was going to cut the other team off. With the lack of power from Pacific for not passing Boston College sooner, this was inevitable. Perhaps another power ten would've saved the T. Delephine's (bow's) rigger from snapping, Boston College's boat from breaking, and the Eliot bridge.

Pacific successfully navigated 2023 Head of the Charles without a crash.
