Asyad Group is a global integrated logistics service provider headquartered in Muscat, Oman. The company was established in 2016.[1]. Asyad Group’s mission is to transform Oman into a global logistics hub[2].

Asyad Group manages three deep ports, two free zones, an economic zone, a dry dock, and a dry port. The Group offers integrated logistics services, including container line, freight forwarding, cold chain, warehousing, e-commerce fulfillment, and express and last-mile delivery[3].

History[edit]

Asyad Group was founded in 2016 to consolidate the logistics assets of the Ministry of Transport and Communications[4].

The company is backed by government infrastructure spending of USD 20 billion. It was founded to consolidate 16 logistics companies and joint ventures in Oman under one entity[5]. Asyad Group is currently valued at USD 4 billion.

Asyad Shipping[edit]

Asyad Shipping operates a fleet of 80 vessels that have a total deadweight capacity of 9.7 million tons.

Asyad Drydock[edit]

Asyad Drydock is located at the Port of Duqm on the southeastern seaboard of Oman. The drydock has a 2,800-meter quay and a water depth of 9 – 10 meters.[6]

Asyad Ports[edit]

Asyad Ports is the largest port operator in Oman. The Group operates three main ports in Salalah, Sohar and Duqm[7]. Asyad Ports also manages and operates several small and medium ports, including Port Sultan Qaboos, Port Suwaiq, Port Shinas and the first dry port in Oman, Khazaen Dry Port.

Free Zones[edit]

Asyad Group operates two free zones: Sohar Freezone and Salalah Freezone. Both free zones are located on the East-West Shipping Lane[8]

Sohar Freezone is located adjacent to the Port of Sohar and spans an area of 45 km2 and services the petrochemicals, metals, logistics, food processing, and manufacturing industries.

Salalah Freezone is located adjacent to the Port of Salalah. It was established in 2016 and covers an area of 21 sqm. It services the light manufacturing, food processing, logistics and distribution sectors.

Economic Zone[edit]

Khazaen Economic City (KEC) is an integrated logistics city located between Muscat and Sohar[9]. It spans an area of over 51 km2.

Oman Post & Asyad Express[edit]

Oman Post and Asyad Express company provides postal and logistics services, including e-post and e-commerce delivery, and traditional and virtual P.O. boxes.[10]
