Ben Kjar (Born May 24, 1983) is an American wrestler, professional speaker and real estate agent. Son of Scott and Stana Kjar. He was born with Crouzons syndrome (a craniofacial anomaly).[1]
Biography[edit]
Ben is Utah Valley University’s first-ever NCAA Division 1 Wrestling All-American and has represented the USA team internationally.[2][3][4]
In the past 6 years, Ben has flipped nearly 200 properties and compiled a Rental portfolio of almost 100 multi family rentals and multiple storage unit complexes.
Ben and his wife, LaCol, are parents of 3 adopted kids which are 4 yrs old and under. After 10 years of marriage, Ben and LaCol, tried to raise a family of their own without success. Eventually they went the IVF route (4 unsuccessful rounds) and then adoption. After two failed adoptions, they finally got the opportunity to start their family.
Education[edit]
Ben went to Viewmont High School in Bountiful, Utah. He graduated from Viewmont High School with a 3.4 GPA and was named to the honor roll. He then majored in entrepreneurship at Utah Valley University.[5]
Wrestling[edit]
He wrestled at Viewmont High School in Bountiful, Utah, helping Viewmont to its first state title in 2002. He was a three-time Utah state champion from sophomore through senior seasons. he then went a perfect 38-0 during sophomore season, 44-4 as a junior and 43-2 as a senior.
His uncle, Shandell Smoot, was a national champion at Ricks College, while another uncle, Greg Kjar, wrestled at BYU. Ben chose Utah Valley Wolverines wrestling so his family could follow his career. Ben was one of the most highly recruited athletes signed by Utah Valley and was recruited by many schools including Oklahoma, Boise State, Cornell, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Tennessee-Chattanooga and Arizona State. Ben never lost a home meet throughout junior high, high school, and college.[6]
