Pageantry[edit]

Damarea Leah Ogbuewu[3] advanced to Miss South Carolina, USA in October of 2023 after winning Miss Spirit of Chesnee, South Carolina. [4] After withdrawing from the pageant in December of that same year, she announced her entry into a Chinese beauty pageant, Miss Asian Global. [5]

Ogbuewu released a statement confirming her withdrawal from the competition. With these titles, she was named one of Ghana's 'teen delegates' after announcing her platform for 'abuse prevention' amid the kidnappings and assault crimes rates increased in Africa.[6]

The news of her pageantry came nearly two years after she launched an educational health platform, '100 Shades' for children in Asia at age sixteen.[7][8] and became a local LGBTQ+ activist. [9] In 2020, she was announced as a cast member of an upcoming Karate Kid remake, but it was not confirmed after 2021. [10][11][12]
