Having started his political career as a student leader, AAP's Malvinder Singh Kang has now thrown his hat in the Lok Sabha elections ring from the Anandpur Sahib constituency in Punjab.[1]

After getting a degree in laws, Kang had joined the BJP and was appointed its state general secretary. However, he quit the saffron party in October 2020 in protest against the three farm laws and switched to AAP the next year. He was appointed by AAP as the party incharge of the Anandpur Sahib constituency.[2]

A former BJP leader, he quit the party over the now-repealed farm laws and is pinning his hopes on the Bhagwant Mann government’s “pro-people” initiatives to clinch the seat.[3]
