History[edit]
Misty Blues was founded in 1999 by its lead singer and founder, Gina Coleman.[4][5]
The band's music collection includes collaborations with artists such as Eric Gales, [6] Charles Neville, and Joe Louis Walker. Misty Blues also opened for contemporary blues icons like Tab Benoit, James Montgomery, and John Primer.[2][4][5]
Misty Blues has toured throughout the continental U.S., Canada, and the UK. [4][5]
Misty Blues began when Gina Coleman was cast as a gospel singer in the Williamstown Theatre Festival production of A Raisin In The Sun in 1999. [7] Encouraged by actor Ruben Santiago Hudson, Coleman transitioned into the blues genre, marking the inception of Misty Blues.[4][5][8]
Misty Blues has received multiple nominations for the Independent Blues Music Awards.[2] [9]
