Terry W. Stiles (born 1947, deceased September 11, 2017)[1] was an American commercial real estate professional widely considered the most influential developer of the city of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.[2] Stiles constructed more than 43 million square feet of commercial and residential projects in the south Florida area.[3] Stiles's concept of a central business district with residential options and leisure amenities is widely acknowledged as having contributed to the creation of the Fort Lauderdale skyline. His influence led to Fort Lauderdale's moniker of the “Wall Street of the South.”[4]
