Description
English: Chiffonne - The ship which Charles Adam took from the French at the Seychelles Islands

Pen and grey wash drawing of (La) Chiffonne (1799), a French frigate taken by the British in 1801. The drawing is signed "Jne Shertcliffe delinr 1804" and inscribed on the verso "The ship which Charles Adam took from the French at the Seychelles Islands". She was captured by the Sybille (38 guns, Captain Charles Adam) on 19 August 1801. The Sybille is another ship captured from the French, by the Romney in 1794.
