San Francisco Dons football team turned this game down[edit]

The condition was that no black players attend, and the Dons would not accept this. Their roster included Ollie Matson (who would be inducted into Pro and College halls of fame) and Burl Toler, both black. I have seen notice of this turndown on TV recently.
