Monaro 427 or Monaro CV8[edit]

Natsoft shows the Monaros as CV8s. Why do we use Monaro 427? I know that they weren't CV8s by any stretch of the imagination but if they were entered and raced under that name how do we justify using a different name? GTHO (talk) 10:57, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Super Touring racer Tony Newman used to pull all the Peugeot badges off his cars and when asked what they were refused to call them Peugeots because Peugeot would not contribute to the running of his team. At some point common sense has to kick in. Do we call Steven Richards and Mark Winterbottom's V8 Supercars Falcon GTs because they have GT badges, and none of the others do? They were called Monaro CV8s because the HRT 427 actually isn't a Holden model and Holden wanted the limelight for themselves and not for the Holden Special Vehicles division. At some level you have to place common sense above pedantism, but we each decide where we draw lines. --Falcadore (talk) 12:28, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
