Street vendor protests[edit]

I'm currently having an internal debate over whether to include the street vendor protests in Armenia that started in January. There's no explicit link to the protests taking place now, although a lot of the protesters had similar complaints (high cost of living, inflation, low wages, etc.), and at least one article mentions that the Armenian opposition is sympathetic to the vendors. Year and copy-paste issue[edit]

The protests in 2011 have a little association with the protests that started on May 8. Later ones are demanding new election, while the ones in 2011 where for political reforms and investigation of killing of 10 people on March 1, 2008.--Yerevanci (talk) 20:21, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You have to stop copy-and-pasting moving, though. It's a violation of WP:MOVE. Read that and do the page move the proper way if you want it to be changed. -Kudzu1 (talk) 20:56, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Eh, I did a few copy-and-paste moves to speed up the process of getting pages into the right place after South Sudan declared independence, and I got a quite unexpected editing block for a few hours for not following WP:MOVE. It's taken seriously here because copy-and-paste moves effectively leave a page's entire editing history, which is very useful information logging all the changes that have been made to a page for present and future reference, on a redirect. It is not unnecessary. You need a better attitude than "whatever". We keep edit history as a way of documenting and attributing who wrote what in this encyclopedia. 2011–2012 Armenian protests → 2011 Armenian protests – The protests in 2011 have a little association with the protests that started on May 8. Later ones are demanding new election, while the ones in 2011 where for political reforms and investigation of killing of 10 people on March 1, 2008. I also created 2012 Armenian parliamentary election protests article, which includes the protest of May 8 and will be updated with upcoming protests.
