Groups[edit]

@Lugnuts: So apparently the three groups (A–C) will in fact have two subgroups of four teams, rather like the 2020 ACC Western Region T20. I hope we don't end up with Group A, Group a, and Group A, Group b! Bs1jac (talk) 08:55, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Haha, could become very confusing! "We have clearance, Clarence. Roger, Roger. What's our vector, Victor? That's Clarence Oveur. Over...." :D Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 09:03, 2 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Further postponed?[edit]

@Lugnuts: I assume these will now be postponed again, given that several of the teams (Germany, Finland, Denmark, Luxembourg, Belgium, Czechia, Guernsey and IoM) have arranged other fixtures for August. With the 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup having been moved to 2022 I would guess these qualifiers will now be played next summer. Haven't seen anything concrete, but have read various quotes such as 'now that the qualifiers are not happening'. Have you seen anything since the last update? Bs1jac (talk) 21:22, 16 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not seen anything myself, but with the increased travel restrictions in Spain, I'd be amazed if anything happens this year. Common sense would be to push this, and all the other qualifiers back by one year. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 06:31, 17 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

New title[edit]

@Lugnuts: Do we think the title should be changed to 2021 instead of 2020–21 now? Potentially for other regions as well? Bs1jac (talk) 16:58, 22 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Bs1jac: Good idea. I guess the original schedule would have most, if not all of them, spanning multiple years and seasons. And looking back at previous qualification pathways, that was the case (Europe example). Now these all seem to be taking place in 2021 (fingers crossed), so I'm going to be bold and move them all to 2021, much like the World Cup Challenge League pages. The ICC press release would support the single year setup, albeit if it doesn't explicitly state so. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 17:19, 22 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Also, the women's tournaments followed this naming convention too (Europe example). Everything should be moved. I've fixed all the redirects in templates, etc. Hopefully I've got them all. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 17:32, 22 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Faisal Mubashir[edit]

@Lugnuts and Bs1jac: Is CI showing the correct profile? The player has played enough matches in Pakistan to be notable. Human (talk) 08:24, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah its the correct guy. He has played enough domestic games, but not that recently, and I know there was a discussion about which domestic leagues should be allowed to 'automatically' assume notability (due to the difficulty in finding good quality, English-language sources). Lugnuts will know more than I do on that subject! Bs1jac (talk) 08:29, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
He did get coverage here and here. Human (talk) 08:33, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Just spotted this guy on today's debuts as you pinged me! He has enough domestic matches under his belt IMO, plus a national call-up for Germany too. Page started. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 08:34, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Cool - to clarify, the previous discussion was whether players in for example Pakistan's domestic system should automatically be considered notable (not my suggestion!). In this case, we have been able to find a couple of sources, and he has an international appearance, so yes definitely meets the criteria. Bs1jac (talk) 08:44, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. Yes, don't get me started on the revised notabilty for players, haha! Any others that are similar cases to Faisal Mubashir (IE no article, but has played FC/LA, etc), that I don't spot, just ping me or drop me a note on my talkpage. Thanks. Amjad Khan[edit]

I forgot that Amjad Khan played a T20I for England, thought he just played a Test. Given I am a Kent supporter... Bs1jac (talk) 13:53, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, he had one of each, on the same tour I believe.--Moedk (talk) 14:32, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup qualifier[edit]

Sounds like the first leg of European qualifications is already scheduled for this summer, unfortunately the only source is on FB showing Denmark preparing for tours to Belgium, Canada and Malaysia. Moedk (talk) 14:51, 2 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Should have said video on FB ... Moedk (talk) 14:52, 2 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
