Merging some of the less-developed articles into 2022 in Southeast Asia[edit]

TLDR; title explains all. I'm looking at a few of these articles and thinking that they could be merged into 2022 in Southeast Asia. There are a few in particular I'm looking at:

2022 in Vietnam
2022 in Laos
2022 in Cambodia
2022 in Brunei
~~2022 in Singapore~~ no longer included in proposal
2022 in Myanmar
2022 in East Timor
2022 in Thailand

So far, only the 2022 articles for Indonesia, the Philippines, and Malaysia can really be seen as significant standalone articles, though could see some of their events cross-listed. Given that all of the other listed countries above don't really have significant content at this time, we could merge all the events, births, and deaths down into a single article while providing collapsible tables for incumbent government officials. Oppose to merging Singapore. It is already as fleshed out as the other articles for Indonesia, Philippines and Malaysia. {{Unfocused}} will invariably be slapped on the resultant merged page. No issues with merging the other articles together since the number of entries in those are relatively smaller. – robertsky (talk) 18:20, 10 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose. Year in country articles constitute an extensive, well-established list format, and readers will expect to find them at their correct locations, well developed or not. Lumping a handful into a peculiar article for a single year is not going to help with anything. --Paul_012 (talk) 17:09, 11 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose As others stated, this format of article is an established list format. Beyond that, there is not necessarily a reason beyond article quality to lump the countries together. i.e. The civil war in Myanmar is not necessarily relevant to Brunei. Much better to flesh out these articles as the merged article, once improved, will require splitting due to the lack of focus. I can also speak to Myanmar in that it's difficult to get quality third-party secondary sources about the war until about 6 months to a year afterwards. Furthermore the extensive list of incumbents you see elsewhere is also difficult as the changing appointees are not always relevant or reported on even in local media.
