Removal of material[edit]

I removed following paragraph from the article. It states nothing out of the ordinary in respect to usual masterclass practice. I consider its style devalues the article.

When travelling abroad, Maestro Carlevaro was often invited to teach Master Classes, where in the course of a few consecutive days, students of all levels brought him their inquiries about technique, fingering, expression, or the like. The Maestro invited him/her to play the piece or section in question, and listened attentively. After the student's performance was over, he gave his opinion (most of the times an encouraging one) and his advice. But in most occasions, he also asked to try the guitar, examined it, tuned it a bit, and then played the same piece or passage again. At that point the lucky student and all those present were ovecome with amazement, as what they now were hearing seemed to be another, completely different instrument altogether, emitting a generous, handsome sound, full of rich timbres, playing a piece now full of color, expression, and significance: such was his mastery.

I wrote that paragraph. Besides Carlevaro's, I have attended Master Classes taught by several other notable guitarists and/or guitar pedagogues, like Alirio Díaz, Carlos Barbosa-Lima, David Russell, Leo Brouwer, Luis Zea and Rodrigo Riera, but in none of those memorable instances the surprise effect was so remarkable as with Abel Carlevaro. I regard your comments above (justifying your removal) as POV. Also, your action devalues the article, subtracting instead of adding material which others might find interesting. I have reinstated said paragraph. If you don't like my style, you are kindly invited to improve it, but please refrain from trouncing the article.

I have again removed material that is personal POV (and acknowledged above as such by its author) as it reads like it was lifted from a fan club magazine. I am hopeful that AVM will take calm stock of the action and rise above any issues of writer's ego. I have left a general account of masterclass practise, but as almost all masterclasses follow similar proceedures I feel it that is also superflous. I would also remind AVM that talk page is where POV is acceptable and valued in discussion toward improvement of articles.RichardJ Christie 09:16, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The link under (Concert-Guitar Model "Carlevaro") imho is a funny one, pointing to an archived page from Argentina. Funny because it contains little to no information about the guitar Carvelaro designed whatsoever.
I think there a much better link could be provided to an on-line magazine[It states: "Click on the images to read the magazines online for free".] (Orfeo #3) page (12-13) with detailed photo's that does give a lot more information. Maybe the publisher would not even mind a screenshot of that particular page but since I cannot edit pages I am not going to ask permission.

I guess I'll just leave my comment here for whoever is interested or for who feels the above should be included and knows how to fix it.
(I came here after listening to a CD by the late master Baltazar Benitez from Uruguay ( a former pupil apparantly - https://www.baltazarbenitez.com/specialties ) containing 5 pieces of Abel Carlevaro 'Preludios Americanos' from the Cd 'Latin American Music for Classical Guitar' that also includes a stunning version of 'El último canto' by Agustín Barrios where the tremelo he performs throughout the entire piece is extremely beautiful and quite amazing, recorded in 1976.
