Personal life and other work[edit]

I've recently completed a major overhaul of this article, mostly by piecing together published information regarding each lighthouse that was constructed by Woodward. I'm fairly confident that I've outlined most of his significant work on US lighthouses, however this article stands to be improved even further if reference material can be located which elaborates on Woodward's personal life or the other types of construction projects that he oversaw aside from lighthouses. —Jgcoleman (talk) 03:33, 13 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

After pulling together information from a wide range of published material, I've managed to piece together a much richer portrait of Woodward's life. I took the better part of two days and searched the Internet high and low, drilled down to the deepest depths of search results and tinkered with all sorts of queries to dredge up data in unlikely places. During the entire process, I fully believed that I would eventually find a thorough account of his life and work. And yet it seems as if nobody has bothered, for some two centuries since his death, to tell Woodward's story. But what folks have published in bits and pieces has been pieced together here to go beyond the very abstract beginnings of this article. I'm admittedly proud to say that this Wikipedia entry has grown to become probably be the most thorough and authoritative article on Woodward available online, if not in general. I look forward to the contributions of others as time goes on! —Jgcoleman (talk) 01:50, 22 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
