Racism section removed[edit]

I have removed the section titled "Racism in Ryan's editorials". Each instance was cited to Ryan's own writings. Declaring these writings as racist based on the writing alone is original research. Calling anything "racist" is an opinion, and we cannot publish opinions unless we can cite the opinions to a particular write, and ascribe the opinions to said writer. For example, while we can say

John Doe, writing for The Generic Newspaper, has noted the following racist opinions expressed by Ryan...

we cannot say (in Wikipedia's voice)

Ryan was a racist because he said these things...

Poetry[edit]

@Leodenton: I'd like to ask why you feel so many samples of Ryan's poetry are necessary. I think one, or at most, two selections would suffice to give a sense of his writing style. Using the poems as sidebars, in sections to which they do not relate, just seems decorative but not informative. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 15:09, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the quote boxes. I would instead recommend that a separate section on Ryan's poetry be added, with selections of his significant poems. Here, significance must be derived from significant coverage in independent sources, not just the Wikipedia editor's personal preferences. I have been unable to find any independent reviews or analyses of Ryan's poetry, but my search was not exhaustive. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 11:48, 28 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
