Misinformation[edit]

The British vessels in this action were all commercial whalers. Only Rose sailed under a letter of marque. The small size of the vessels' crews relative to their armament is clear evidence that their business was whaling, not privateering, which in any case only Rose was authorized to do. The fact that these vessels were brigs, and carried guns, does not by any stretch of the imagination make them gun-brigs.Acad Ronin (talk) 00:27, 31 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Acad Ronin,This is yet another fantasy article that was created by a wikipedia contributor with an agenda, who was indefinitely banned. In some cases, the article is about an event which happpened, but needs a root and branch rewrite. In a greater number of cases, he has come across skimishes, and wrote fantasy essays about how they were set piece battles. When I did fact checking for Lake Borgne, I was amazed how much of the content he had made up, which bore no resemblance to what was recounted by source material.
