I am moving the cherry-picked quotes to this page as they have been copied verbatim off the subject's official website and have no independent verification. However, they may be useful for editors doinf further reserach for sources. Note also that it is and promotional to have section of out-of-context quotes limited solely to praising the artist.

Yes, and I have removed it twice, and another editor has removed it as well. I am hoping the editor who keeps re-adding it takes the comments here on board, especially re the use of IPs to edit-war. Future editing[edit]

I've re-written this article entirely as the previous version by another editor was a copyright violation - pasted verbatim from the subject's web site. Future editors, especially those who are affiliated in any way (personal or professional) with Anahit Mekhitarian must adhere to the following guidelines when editing it.

1. Before even starting to edit it again, please read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and Wikipedia:Autobiography for guidance.

2. Wikipedia is not a newsletter or bulletin board. Avoid terms like "now", "soon", "currently" and "recently" which make the article both imprecise, and in many instances, quickly inaccurate. Instead, use expressions such as "as of 2009".

3. This is an encyclopedia article, not Ms. Mekhitarian's personal web site or curriculum vitae. All additions must be referenced to reliable sources. Unreferenced lists of where she has allegedly appeared, name-dropping lists of orchestras, conductors, etc. are entirely inappropriate and will be removed.

4. All additions must be neutrally worded and use encyclopedic tone and style. Any additions which can be perceived by a neutral reader as hype or PR will be removed immediately. See Wikipedia:Neutral point of view and Wikipedia:Avoid peacock terms for guidance.

5. Do not paste in text from your or anyone else's official websites, blogs etc. Apart from the almost invariably unsuitable promotional style, it is a copyright violation unless the sites explicitly display a public domain license. Do not edit while logged out to continue re-adding inappropriate material to this article which several other editors have removed. I am referring to the edits by 46.241.176.9, 178.78.152.131, 188.115.236.32, and 46.70.92.238, all of which trace back to Orange Telecommunications Armenia in Yerevan, and are almost certainly the same person. Repertoire[edit]

Is there any particular need to have a complete list of the songs she performs? The information isn't sourced well and, in my opinion, ought to be condensed. CtP (t • c) 00:02, 28 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

They're not songs, they're the roles she's sung in operas and the names of the operas. The specific role in is ( )'s after the italicised opera title. Repertoire lists are fairly common in opera singers' biographies here. See for example, Simon Keenlyside#Operatic roles. The big difference is that the Simon Keenlyside one is impeccably referenced. This one is not. It's entirely referenced to her official biography which is a primary source. I haven't cross-checked, but I suspect some of the roles listed are not even referenced by the primary source used. I've re-tagged the section for "primary sources". If no better references are forthcoming, it should probably be removed, but I'd give it a while. Given that virtually her whole stage career has been with the Armenian State Opera, either at Yerevan or on tour with the company, sourcing may be quite arduous. Big opera companies like the Metropolitan Opera or La Scala have extensive online performance archives which can be used to source such lists, but I doubt if the the Armenian State Opera does. List dumps[edit]

I see that the article's creator (and the associated IPs) have been gradually re-dumping long lists of every city and country in which she has allegedly appeared. These are uninformative, unencyclopedic, unreferenced, and pure PR. I have condensed this considerably and tagged the whole section with {{refimprove}}. Any further attempts to add this material will be promptly removed. Once again: This is an encyclopedia article, not Anahit Mekhitarian's personal website or curriculum vitae. Removal of maintenance tags[edit]

Please do not remove the maintenance tags without rectifying the problem. The entire repertoire section is referenced solely to Anahit Mekhitarian's official biography. That is a primary source. It is not independent of the article's subject. The life and career section still contains numerous unsourced statements and assertions, from the name of her husband, to the "Honoured Artist" award, to the list of concert halls and theatres it is claimed that she has performed in. And, no, her own biography is not an adequate source. I have restored both tags. If the IP-hopping editor who keeps making these inappropriate edits doesn't stop this I'm going to ask for page protection.
