The math doesn't work on these sentences, or at least it is confusing: "... Garfunkel's then fiancée, Linda Marie Grossman. The couple were married at her Nashville home a year earlier (October 1, 1972) but divorced less than two years later (August 1975)"

If they were married a year earlier, she wouldn't be his fiance. October 1, 1972 to August 1975 is more than two years, not less than two years.
