This name is a simple mis-reading of Ayyarid. The name of the dynasty was Ayyrid and the founder was also Muhammad the Ayyar, not Annaz. In Arabic orthography, the two names are written identically, but for two dots. The reading "Annazid" should be at once discarded. The Banu Annaza were and are an Arab tribe found in upper Arabia and Iraq. However, the Ayyarids were Kurds and took their name from "Ayar/Ayyar"--a name given to the adherents of the native religion of Yarisanism/Ahl-i Haqq. The following article, therefore, needs to be amended and rewritten to reflect this.

Kurdish Historian, Sharaf al-Din Bitlisi in the 16th century correctly records the name as Ayyar and gives a relatively detailed history of the dynasty. See my translation of Bitlisi's work, The Sharafnama, vol. 1., 2005.
