I can't find any proof for her being born Tempel. Her parents are named Friedrich, her mother is a physiotherapist and has some personal information on her website, there is no evidence for the name Tempel. If so she must have been married Tempel before Ariane was born or something similar. Can anybody help with facts? --Goodgirl - talk to me 01:21, 28 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The first appearance of this surname stems from an edit made to the German Wikipedia article in July 2007 [1]. It cites the official website, but the internet archive reveals nothing. The Sports Reference website now carries the Tempel name, but this may be dependent on Wikipedia as that page was created later in 2008. It doesn't seem conclusive either way.
