Evaluation of Article[edit]

The material is organized because there is just one sentence, however, the quality of the evidence is low. The current information is not correct because there are more genera than actually listed. The current recognized genera are: Sheathia, Kumanoa, Batrachospermum, Sirodotia, Nothocladus, Nocturama, Tuomeya, Torularia, Acarposporophycos, Balliopsis, Lympha, Petrohua, Psilsiphon, Virescentia, Visia, and Volatus. The article does not discuss the topic at all. The curernt references are legitimate, but there aren't many of them.

The article can be improved by updating the article to include all genera and the descriptions of the genera. I can add a table to include species within each genus and link them to wikipedia pages that exist. I will also talk about distributions and specific facts about this family. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rc907218 (talkcontribs) 13:36, 24 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Edit Summary[edit]

The only information available for the family Batrachospermaceae are the taxonomic notes which make up the one and only paragraph. This information increased the quality of evidence available for this family. I found that distributions and any other broad specifics have only been studied in the order Batrachospermales which includes the families Batrachospermaceae and Lemaneaceae, therefore, including this general information would be incorrect for the just the family Batrachospermaceae.

The article comprehensively discusses the taxonomic notes for this family (all of the information that was available for this family) and now covers all genera in the family and lists a reference for each new genus, providing a comprehensive list. This comprehensive list includes the genus authority and number of species. The material is now organized in a table, and is focused solely on the taxonomic notes of Batrachospermaceae. The quality of the evidence presented is high based on the number or references added to the article. The article went from 6 to 24 citations.

The content was improved by adding taxonomic notes (which were not present in the previous version of the article), creating a table with a list of all genera, the genus authority and number of species with a reference for each genus. The table on the right hand side was also updates to include all genera, the authority of the genus, and the date in which the genus was described (in this table I followed the format that already existed, but updated information). I did not add genera descriptions because that should be included on pages created in the future for each specific genus.

There is no introduction because there is not enough information available for the family Batrachsospermaceae to divide into sections. The only current information is the taxonomic note that is the first paragraph. There are not several headings and subheadings but that is not needed for this specific article. There is nothing missing from this article, I added all updated information for the family Batrachospermaceae. All facts are emphasized in the two tables with genera.
