Agreed, I tagged the previous incarnation of the article as being a test page. On said page, there was only a question for editors. Taking this into account, no opinion has yet been rendered by me on the content of this article.--SamHolt6 (talk) 15:16, 16 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Coachbuilt[edit]

According to the Coachbuilt website The purpose of this site is to compile all available information and correct the discrepancies before committing the book to print. Additional information, pictures and corrections are most welcome. Click Here to Add or Correct information Their plan is to produce a book, sure, but as of now I don't see how this meets WP:RS, and even in book form it may not do if that book is not independently published. - Sitush (talk) 13:39, 18 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I think I would be wary of stuff published by Arcadia Publishing also. Although at present we do not cite anything by them, their business model suggests to me that there would not be much in the way of editorial control. That's a bit unfortunate because there are at least two books in their list that mention B&S in connection with Amesbury. - Sitush (talk) 14:09, 18 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Dubious source[edit]

"Upholstery Firm in Carriage Setting". The Carriage Journal. 11 (1): 42. Summer 1973. says that they were the largest of 34 such firms in Amesbury in their day. The problem is, the source is a quote from someone who was trading from the former B&S premises in 1973. What expertise does that person have with regard to matters historical? - Sitush (talk) 14:32, 18 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

And largest by what measure? Sales? size of factory? Employees (number, not weight etc)? After doing a bit of browsing, I suspect that the best way to source this article well would be to go through backcopies of newspapers etc at a local library or, if available, via something like newspapers.com. Tedious but satisfying work, usually. - Sitush (talk) 14:38, 18 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I don't feel strongly about this, nor do I intend to delve into writing these articles better. My intention was to create articles about an interesting and important part of automotive manufacturing history in the United States (manufacture of auto bodies in Amesbury, Mass.) and let others build on my stubs. Good luck to whomever takes this up. Cbmccarthy (talk) 15:36, 18 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
OK. I'll probably remove all of the dubious stuff then, unless someone else chimes in. - Sitush (talk) 15:43, 18 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
