His genre(s)/approach(es)[edit]

Quoth Lopifalko:

On closer examination, of the actual work in his books, and despite what Huck magazine claims, his is not street photography it is documentary and portrait photography

I don't dispute that it's documentary and/or portrait photography. The book of his that I know best is the one he made from a short stay in Istanbul: it's not one of his better known ones or, I suspect, one of his best; but a lot of the content looks like street photography to me. While my opinion hardly matters (and of course the meaning of "street photography" is fluid), Duckduckgo shows that he's commonly referred to as a "street photographer" (and "reliable sources" are among these), and Blake Andrews puts two of his books in his list of 400 street photo books. -- Hoary (talk) 02:58, 6 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Who am I to argue with Blake Andrews. To save confusion in the reader, we don't need to define someone as only a street photographer if that is not their only oeuvre, we can say that their work has included street photography. -Lopifalko (talk) 09:11, 6 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
