Dates Inconsistent[edit]

We are told that the location is first mentioned as Villa Burgaragio in 889 AD, citing Dictionnaire étymologique des noms de lieux en France, Ch. Rostaing 1963. We are also told that it derives from the German Burghar (which seemingly comes from German names meaning Hard Castle), which seems reasonable, but also from 'Bugari', allegedly referring to the Bulgarian Bogomilis. But the Bogomil article suggests Bogomil began preaching in the reign of Peter I of Bulgaria (927-969), and thus well after 889 AD. So at least one of these claims would seem to be wrong, though I don't wish to correct it myself, as I'm not sure which statement is wrong, even though the likeliest candidate for being wrong seems to be the claimed derivation from the Bogomilis.Tlhslobus (talk) 04:05, 22 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The Bugarach Hype/Hoax[edit]

December 21 came and went, but the hippie armies didn't. In retrospect it's easy to see what a lot of people suspected: that the warnings from mayor Delord were so much spin. The 20,000 visitors metioned in the article has two citations, but both sources in turn cite Delord. Hexmaster (talk) 09:21, 5 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
