Section needs rewriting[edit]

I removed this section for tone / NPOV issues. It needs a rewrite:

At the end of December 2016 Busisiwe Mkhwebane wanted the South African Reserve Bank to “consider reviewing its lending policies”, but did not include any further thoughts for implementation in a written draft report. What possessed Mkhwebane to order a change in direct opposition to economic orthodoxy, shocking everyone from the ANC to ratings agencies, is not clear. In the time during which she changed her mind she had only two meetings on the issue. One was with the department of state security. The other was with Stephen Goodson, a former Reserve Bank director, Holocaust denier and collaborator with the Gupta-linked Black First Land First fringe group.^[1] Stephen Goodson is a South African banker, author and politician who is leader of the South Africa's Abolition of Income Tax and Usury Party. He is best known for statements praising Adolf Hitler and his promotion of Holocaust denial. He stood as a candidate for the Ubuntu Party in the 2014 General Elections.^[2]^[3]^[4]^[5] It seems that Goodson made quite an impression on Mkhwebane. “A must-read book,” Mkhwebane said on a social media post regarding the front page of Goodson’s book A History of Central Banking (and the Enslavement of Mankind) two days after she met him in April.^[6]
