It looks like, from sources that I cannot use, because the summation is a combination of 1) primary records, 2) Find a Grave, and 3) original research piecing in the information together: William B. Waite married a woman named Ann while in England, or shortly after arriving. They had a son, Frank, born about 1855 (who like C.B. came to live in San Diego). Ann died in 1866. The next year, William married Mahala Gettings. I thought they moved, but the family lived 2 miles from Plymouth, and I think that the border changed or the town of New Haven was formed sometime around 1880. New Haven is about 2.5 miles north of Plymouth.

There is a 1907 Consulate registration record that I found with a notarized statement from William that said that Charles Betts Waite's mother's name was Ann. I can add that part. It doesn't say that her maiden name was Dawson. I cannot find a source that can be used that ties Ann Dawson to William (B.) Waite.–CaroleHenson (talk) 05:38, 1 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

There is no secondary source for the first marriage - it came from "'Charles Betts Waite, Application to the Consulate General, Mexico City', U.S., Consular Registration Applications, 1916-1925, Department of State, Division of Passport Control Consular Registration Applications, February 26, 1918" - it named his children, the only one of which was a daughter, by her married/husband's name (Mrs... I forget the husband's name) - born in 1885 in Hollywood, Los Angeles, by an earlier marriage (the current wife was named).

I always cite the content that I am adding - and never insert some verbiage that is uncited. So, you could tell this from the citation that followed the statement.–CaroleHenson (talk) 16:38, 1 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
