Age and order built[edit]

I’m going to back off my earlier assertion that the Cardston Temple was the second temple built outside the U.S. (because it isn't true). Although the first four temples built in Utah and the temple in Hawaii were built outside then-constituted U.S. states, they were built in U.S. territories that later became states. I don’t know if that means they were built outside of the U.S. or not. To avoid confusion, I’ve changed this article to read that it is “the oldest LDS temple outside the United States,” which remains true no matter what the geopolitical status of the other temples may have been. Proposal: Replace dueling infoboxes[edit]

template:infobox religious building has been updated to includes several fields relating to designation of historical signifigance. If no one objects, I will remove the two current infoboxes and replace them with one, more unified one. --Kevlar (talkcontribs) 04:53, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I would object to removing the "Infobox LDS Temple" template. There are many pages that use multiple infoboxes because the article's subject fits into multiple categories, as does this one's. I don't see anything wrong with having multiple infoboxes on one page.
Also, the "Infobox LDS Temple" template is a standard template that is used on all LDS temple pages. Removing it would exclude information related specifically to LDS temples that would not be there if the "Infobox religious building" template were substituted. – jaksmata 18:17, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I echo Jaksmata’s comments. —Kmsiever (talk) 23:52, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Suggested Corrections to the Page[edit]

Greetings. Having just read this page, I suggest a couple of edits:

First, there is now a fourth temple without a spire, that being the Paris France Temple. It could also be said that the Tucson Arizona Temple has no spire, having a dome instead. Additionally, there are some who would argue the Meridian Idaho temple technically does not have a spire. In fact, with all the ambiguity, it might be better to just remove this from the article. (Fort Collins Colorado. Sacramento California, Newport Beach California, Hartford Connecticut, and many others actually are built in the shape of a cross, but in a more subtle manner.)

Second, the assertion that the Cardston and Laie Hawaii temples are in the shape of a cross is technically not true, as a cross has one leg longer than the other three. They are in the shape of an "x" rather than a cross. If that constitutes a cross, then the Paris France and Meridian Idaho temples are also in the shape of a cross. Again, I would suggest dropping this statement due to ambiguity.

Also, I just thought of a third item, the Eight without Angel Moroni. The currently under construction Kinshasa Democratic Republic of the Congo Temple does not have an Angel Moroni Statue in the official church render.
