Austin's Violet Crown is a formation of deep violet clouds seen at sunset in the west, which has a flat bottom and rays pointing from the southeast around to the northeast. I took some pictures of a poorly formed Violet Crown on February 14, 2014. It was hardly comparable to the one I saw Sept. 7, 2013, which was almost perfectly formed. This cloud formation only lasts 15 minutes or so at the most. I am uploading one of the photos if I can figure out how to do it. 70.114.146.227 (talk) 01:08, 11 March 2014 (UTC) Eric
