Text and/or other creative content from this version of Contextualization was copied or moved into Contextualization (Bible translation) with this edit. The former page's history now serves to provide attribution for that content in the latter page, and it must not be deleted as long as the latter page exists.

I feel like we need to change this to contextualization (missionary), and include both missiological things, and also biblical translation. This is a great topic and deserves a lot more attention. Xphilosopherking (talk) 01:31, 16 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

However, the challenge here is that "contextualizing theology," as coined by Coe, was not meant to be a missionary activity. It was what locals do for their own theology. It may include an evangelistic or biblical translation aspect, but this is not central to it. --Caorongjin (talk) 20:05, 29 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Contextualizing theology → Contextual theology – This is a more dominant usage of the term, although it was originally termed "contextualising theology" by Shoki Coe in the 1970s Caorongjin (talk) 16:28, 29 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
