Coup de Grace, you may notice that the word resembles the word: coup d'état [Pronounced: Coo day tah] (French word), coup d'état is used generally to refer to the downfall of a government or régime (A quick and decisive seizure of governmental power by a strong military or political group), Coup de grace [Coo da gra] (also French) literally means, Death Blow, or the finishing strike.

Example one: The assassin delivered the coup de grace to his poisoned victim.
