About this article[edit]

Many aspects of crime in PRC are not fully mentioned in the article, such as the causes of the increase of teenage crime and the fact that Canton has the highest teenage crime rate in PRC. Also there should be a graph depicting the crime trend and provincal comparison, just like crime in the United States. --RekishiEJ (talk) 19:08, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Is there bias in this article?[edit]

It seems that this article gets most of its information from one source. The language in this article, such as "The majority of the economic crimes were committed by the capitalists who refused to pay taxes, stole public property and engaged in bribery" seems biased to me. This article has a distinct bias caused by restricted sources which are also 20 years out of date. The article needs a complete rewrite using multiple reliable sources. Rincewind42 (talk) 15:27, 3 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This article is definitely propaganda. I mean, "Restaurants and hotels extort high prices out of guests and those who show resistance are detained or beaten"? This needs to be rewritten if not deleted. Jaredjeya (talk) 23:42, 27 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Absolutely biased. I was born in China and lived in it until last year. "The criminal organizations have acquired more weapons and vehicles which are often of better quality than that of the police force."is impossible, China's gun-control is very strict, only army and police can have gun, personly own gun is crime. imsupernewstar 21:32, 7 April 2014 (BST)

I'm attempting to fix the grammar (I don't think the author was a native English speaker) and neutralize the wording. However, the source seems to be quite biased, and I can't fix that without quite a bit of research. Hopefully someday someone will get a better source or at least another one to back up some of the large generalizations made in this article. The crime is 0.8[edit]

Freaknomics is telling me the new crime rate in China. The info is 2010 1.0 and it decreased to 0.8 later and then i change it. Then all these people change it back and make it higher. The UN report cited in the article has 2010 and 2011 rates. It's probably better to go with the more recent data from the UN. —C.Fred (talk) 01:31, 7 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
