Women's BMX freestyle park[edit]

On what basis did Germany win a quota at the 2023 World Championships when at least three countries (excluding USA and China) finished ahead of them in the event? Drams707 (talk) 17:23, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The BMX freestyle section is completely incorrect. The qualification system provides for the first six spots per gender to be awarded via the Olympic Qualifier Series, after which places from the 2022 and then 2023 championships will go preferentially to continents that have no qualified athletes. Only once all continents have filled a slot will the remaining places go to top finishers at those events. As such, it is simply wrong to suggest that high-finishing countries in the 2022 and 2023 World Championships have locked up qualification spots, and indeed, athletes from those countries (such as the USA) are competing in the OQS (unlike in some other sports such as sport climbing where some countries have reached maximum quota and are therefore excluded from OQS).Paulthomas1984 (talk) 01:07, 11 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

MTB Qualification[edit]

How did a male mexican biker qualify through a continental championship? The mexican that won gold at the 2023 ContCh, in May, was suspended for failing to appear for dopping test. Was his suspension lifted? And also there is no other male mexican in a position for qualifying through the 2023 ContCh. And plus, as far as I understood, an NOC can qualify only ONE athlete through the ContCh, so how is it that Mexico got to qualify a female and a male athlete both through the 2023 ContCh? Something is not right. 201.32.90.193 (talk) 21:27, 1 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
