Taxonomy: For all marine species, Project Gastropods uses the taxonomy in the online database WoRMS. When starting a new article, do not use sources of taxonomic information that predate the 2017 revision for all gastropod groups ("Revised Classification, Nomenclator and Typification of Gastropod and Monoplacophoran Families" by Philippe Bouchet & Jean-Pierre Rocroi, Bernhard Hausdorf, Andrzej Kaim, Yasunori Kano, Alexander Nützel, Pavel Parkhaev, Michael Schrödl and Ellen E. Strong in Malacologia, 2017, 61(1–2): 1–526.) (can be dowloaded at Researchgate.net), substituting the previous classification of 2005 Taxonomy of the Gastropoda (Bouchet & Rocroi, 2005). I wanted to add a copy of this info here as I do not have the time to integrate it into the article now.

The following info is about the cyclophorid genera Ditropis, Ditropopsis, and two other somewhat similar genus names, one from the same family, and one from the family Assimineidae.

According to Nomenclator Zoologicus, both names are recognized :

Ditropis Blanford 1869 J. Asiat. Soc. Bengal, 38, 126.
Ditropopsis Smith 1897 Ann. Mag. nat. Hist., (6) 20, 416. (see: Discover Life)

Based on the root "Ditropis", there is also :

Afroditropis Bequaert & Clench 1936 Rev. Zool. Bot. afr., 29, 102. (The genus Afroditropis is reviewed on the basis of type material of all the species, of which there are only three, viz two in the Central/West African forest belt and one on Sao Tome.)
Ditropisena Iredale 1933 Rec. Australian Mus., 19, 57. (family: Assimineidae) (Online Zoological Collections of Australian Museums)
