Highway vs Motorway[edit]

Technically, an highway can mean any road, also non motorways. This article is strictly about a motorway or Dalnice. I suggest "highway" should be replaced by "motorway". Within Europe, the word "motorway" is the English variant of the local name (Dalnice, Autobahn, Autostrada, Motorvej, etcetera), not highway. Chriszwolle (talk) 14:46, 10 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There is a big confusion in a road naming and classification in wikipedia. Article has Autobahn, Autopista, Autoroute, Auto-estrada, Expressway, Freeway, Motorway, High Quality Dual Carriageway, Carriageway, Dual carriageway, Motorroad ; altough most of these terms are interchangeable. I agree that in a case of czech dálnice motorway is more suitable word than highway. Feel free make changes, rename articles, but do not forget to make corresponding changes in categories, templates and wikilniks. I am for complete change, but against sigle article rename.--Jklamo (talk) 17:45, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. I raised the same point at the new generic article Talk:Highways in the Czech Republic. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 19:15, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
