Moravian Indian Reserve No. 47Moravian 47, Ontario – Official name as per StatsCan, and MOS for reserves in Ontario – FUNgus guy (talk) 12:37, 3 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 16:29, 3 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
David Zeisberger was a Unity of the Brethren(Moravian) pastor and missionary to indigent tribes, especially the Delaware, in the mid-eighteenth century. His home base was in Bethlehem, PA as a member of Central Moravian Church. The Moravian Church(Unity of the Brethren) was officially founded in 1452 in the Moravia area which is now in the Czech Republic. A rebirth of the Curch occurred in 1727 under the tutelage of Of count Nicholas Zinzendorf , a Lutheran minister, who gave them refuge on his estate near Hernhutt, Germany. 63.150.78.19 (talk) 19:28, 8 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Fungus Guy: But "Moravian" has other meanings, e.g. people of/from Moravia in Europe. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 16:29, 3 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
    • Yes, there are other meanings of Moravian, but only one in Ontario: the numbered reserve of Moravian 47, home of the Moraviantown Delaware Nation. Other reserves in Ontario are listed Reserve #, Ontario, such as Goulais Bay 15A, Ontario, not as Goulais Bay Indian Reserve No. 15A. FUNgus guy (talk) 02:27, 4 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
    • On second thought, this is the only reserve of the Delaware Nation at Monroviantown, so I guess the MOS would be to move the page to the First Nation page, as with Garden River First Nation. FUNgus guy (talk) 02:43, 4 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Moved to correct title[edit]

The First Nation is the Delaware Nation at Moraviantown, not Monroviantown, so I corrected and moved it.Parkwells (talk) 04:23, 10 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
